The Relationship Between Science & Scripture

John Dingess from Midwest Creation Fellowship

Some of us have heard it said, “All Truth is God’s Truth.” What is the basis for believing what is true? God’s word is true because Jesus testified to the Father that, “Your word is truth.” So, it is Scripture that is Truth by definition. Science is never true in a biblical sense, but science can be useful.

John’s presentation will help us to sort out the importance of Science and Scripture.

Dr Paul Nelson - The Unexpected Ubiquity of ORFan Genes

The Significance of ORFan and Taxonomically Restricted Genes

Dr. Paul Nelson from Biola University

ORFan genes were discovered in the mid-90s as automated DNA sequencing became a practical technology. ORFans are defined as genes found in a species or genus which have no matching sequences in other species. ORFans are now considered a world-class biological puzzle found all throughout the Tree of Life.

Dr. Nelson, who has published in this area, will discuss how ORFans are detected, their astonishing numbers, and their significance for origins.

Tim Whalen - The Need to Expose the Theory of Evolution for What It Is

“The Need To Expose The Theory of Evolution for What It Is”
Tim Whalen – Bio

How did the Theory of Evolution come to be perceived as “proven reality” in Science? What impact has it truly had over time? Why do people still believe it? We will discuss needing to help people see the Theory for what it is, along with what we, MCF, can do about it now and in the future.

We will have an open discussion about the direction of the ministry, with Dr. Ken Funk’s passing to glory, and Walt Sivertsen’s retiring as President after 25 years of service.
