
Matthew Welborn is a practicing research engineer in the field of wireless communications and digital signal processing.
His BS degree in System Engineering was earned at the United States Naval Academy. He went on to be commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. After completing training in nuclear power and submarine warfare, he served as a nuclear submarine officer in various roles and deployed aboard a fast-attack submarine before returning to school for graduate studies.
His MS degree in Electrical Engineering was earned from Virginia Tech, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT. He was also awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
Dr. Welborn worked for over 25 years as an engineer in the commercial wireless industry, and later in the aerospace industry as a research and development engineer. He has published numerous papers on the subject of wireless communications and received 20 patent awards.
He has been interested in the subject of Creation and origins for over 30 years and is currently a Board Member of the Triangle Association for the Science of Creation (TASC) in North Carolina. His areas of interest include intelligent design, genetics, information theory and theology.
He and his wife Kim have seven children and live in Cary, NC.
